News Classification:Taiwan to shut down steelmakers during World Games
Wednesday, 13 May 2009
It is reported that Taiwan government called for a shutdown of the steel industry including Tang Eng and China Steel Corp during the period of the World Games 2009.
Kaohsiung will host the World Games after two months. The shutdown plan might last for about 11 days in order to reduce the air pollution.
Mills said that they will try best to satisfy the government policy but they would find it difficult to suspend production for 24 hours a day as this would greatly impact the market supply.
