Heat shrinking holders clamp tools

Gewefa UK introduced the latest Rineck shrink clamp toolholder units for milling applications such as deep pocketing or where very high gripping forces are required.

The heat shrinking technique offers sustained accuracy, is ideal for very precise balancing with its one-piece design and is highly cost effective in use The cycle time for shrinking or un-shrinking the cutter into the toolholder is less than 1 min

For example, the EWS-Slotting unit allows slotting operations to be carried out on CNC lathes as part of the machining cycle.

* Slotting unit for CNC lathes - the 'EWS-Slotting Unit' operates in much the same way as a powered milling or drilling operation, with the drive shaft coupling of the unit fitting into the powered tool station on the machine turret to provide the drive.

Gearing within the unit converts the rotary drive motion into a Z-axis forward motion, which also has an integrated lifting function on the return stroke.

The turret motor's drive dictates the cutting speed and the unit offers a broaching stroke length of 30mm and a width of 10mm.

EWS has paid particular attention to the manufacture and build quality within the slotting unit to ensure it remains highly durable yet consumes minimal power and reduces lathe component wear in what can be an arduous process
