March steel prices fall 25% in North China's Hebei province

It is reported that Prices for most steel varieties continue the downtrend in March in North China's Hebei province, with prices for eight major varieties dropping 25% or so from a year ago due to withering demand and massive supply overhang.

According to Hebei Pricing Bureau, prices for common-carbon round steel, rebar, angle and wire rod fell 1.3%, 2.9%, 4.4% and 4.1% respectively from the previous month; while price for common carbon hot-rolled medium plate kept flat with the month before.

Prices for common carbon hot rolled sheet, cold-rolled sheet and galvanized steel up 0.3%, 3.1% and 4.4% respectively from the month before.
